When life throws you a problem you have two options: 1) Give up. 2) You can try to fix it. Recently a Paris resident realized that despite living within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower he could not see the structure from his bed thanks to the alignment of his building.
This indignity could not stand, so he built a giant periscope. Yes. You read that right.
Here is his original view. Nice, but lets face it, not nice enough.
So he plotted out a plan involving two mirrors.
To position the mirrors properly he would need to build some special mirrors. Here are his blueprints.
To the workshop!
First he attaches the brackets to the back of the mirrors.
Next up are the mounting blocks.
He then glued the mounting blocks to the window.
Then he screwed the mirrors inside the blocks. As you can see he used just one big screw. This allows the mirror to move for angle adjustements.
Here’s the final result, gorgeous view of the Eiffel Tower without ever needing to leave the bed.
