U.S. Navy Honor Guard Wins First Place At International Competition
While we know our members of the armed forces are trained to have impeccable timing and precision, civilians rarely get to see these talents in action – which is probably why we find honor guards so fascinating. Each U.S. military branch has its own honor guard, ceremonial units that are known for their utmost professional conduct and skilled dexterity. They appear at events, honor fallen comrades and guard national monuments, most notably the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington, Virginia. If you've ever seen them live, you know what an extraordinary and moving experience it can be.
Here, the U.S. Navy Presidential Ceremonial Honor Guard takes the stage in Norway for an international competition. After seeing them in action, it's no wonder that the United States took home first place. Their performance is truly remarkable.
