Being able to spot a great find at a garage sale can definitely be a valuable skill. It takes a special eye to see someone else's junk and realize the potential. For instance, this woman found an old, ill-fated dresser, but with a little hard work and elbow grease, she transformed it into a beautiful indoor reading nook. These projects take a little creativity and foresight to accomplish, but it's something anyone can do with practice.
The DIY project featured here uses two things many people don't know what to do with - old coffee tables and pennies. Recently, some have called for the United States government to get rid of the penny, but don't worry penny fans, this project is for you. It starts with finding an old coffee table, either one laying around your house or at a garage sale. YouTuber Jonny Carroll gives a very detailed step-by-step instruction on what to do from there.
Once you get the pennies and the coffee table, all you need is glue, glaze coating, painter's tape, and a mixing bucket. If you don't have enough pennies to fill a coffee table, don't worry. This project works just as well with corks, bottle caps, coasters, or really anything else you can think of. You're only limited by your imagination. When you're finished, you'll have a brand new piece of furniture that will definitely be a conversation starter.
