Attilia Conti, a volunteer at the Italian charity La Collina dei Conigli ONLUS, wanted to find a special way to celebrate the first decade of the charity’s operation. Specializing in the rescue of laboratory animals, mostly rats, guinea pigs, mice and rabbits, the charity works to promote recovery, care and adoption for the small creatures. Conti arranged a photo-shoot inspired by the famous novel “Alice in Wonderland.” When asked why she chose the novel, she stated "Because both the novel and this charity started with a white rabbit.”
Some of the pictures were used in the charity’s 2015 calendar, which helps raise funds for hundreds and hundreds of rescued animals. According to Conti, the mice were the best models, while the guinea pigs were the lazy ones. Whatever the case, the beautiful works of art that were produced will certainly help the cause.
