A group of retirees created a 2015 calendar that truly is "something for the ages." This type of "superfan worship" is usually found in our younger, tech-savvy generation, rather than in a retirement village; but these residents are not your usual 64- to 93-year-old crowd.
Shenley Wood Retirement Village in Milton Keynes, England provided the opportunity for residents to create a calendar where proceeds would benefit the activities fund. Each month displays a famous movie poster. The residents planned and put together "The Golden Age of Cinema" calendar in about six weeks and had a lot of fun doing so.
After practicing their poses for hours in order to get the details "just right," pictures were taken in front of a green screen so backgrounds could be added in later. "The dressing up was such fun," 82-year-old resident Peter Mercer said in a story posted to the village's website.
