Scientists Discover Coconut Oil Can Destroy 90% Of Colon Cancer Cells In Only Two Days

The American Cancer Society estimates that roughly 95,270 new cases of colon cancer will be diagnosed in the United States this year alone. Currently, standard treatment options like surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy all have harsh side effects on the patient. Scientists have long been searching for a safer, natural treatment option, and they just may have found it.

According to recent studies, organic virgin coconut oil could be the new key to treating cancer. This superfood is full of lauric acid, which supports the immune system. In fact, coconut oil tops the list of anti-inflammatory foods thanks to its medium-chain fatty acids which are anti-bacterial, anti-carcinogenic, anti-fungal, anti-microbial, and anti-viral. Basically, coconut oil is anti-everything evil.

This ultra-healthy, all natural oil has already been well documented to help stabilize blood sugar and insulin levels, lower the risk of heart disease, help maintain a healthy weight, and kill harmful fungi. Among its myriad of health benefits, scientists have discovered that coconut oil possesses anti-cancer components as well.

While previously used to help decrease harmful side effects of chemotherapy, a recent study in the Cancer Research journal has found that the lauric acid that constitutes 50% of coconut oil could actually be used to kill colon cancer cells. While research is still ongoing, the results so far are incredibly promising. In vitro experiments conducted at the University of Adelaide saw 90% of cancer cells destroyed after just two days. Unlike in vivo experiments, in vitro tests are performed in a controlled environment, outside of a living organism.

This miracle oil could open the door to safe, alternative remedies to a wide range of other physical ailments. As the American Society for Nutrition notes, the medium-chain fatty acids in coconut oil “may be useful in treating and preventing diseases such as osteoporosis, virus-related diseases (mononucleosis, hepatitis C, herpes, etc.), gallbladder disease, Crohn's disease, and cancer.” Doctors have also credited coconut oil in treatments for Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, multiple sclerosis, drug resistant epilepsy, and diabetes.
