The Tide Transforms This Boardwalk Into Beautiful Music
This is something that needs to be heard to be believed. The Sea Organ is equal parts sculpture, sidewalk and musical instrument. By building these seaside steps with a series of pipes and channels, Nikola Bašić designed the Sea Organ to use the power of the waves crashing into it to generate music. The tones are random but harmonic, so the sounds created are beautiful, if a little eerie.
Only two similar instruments exist in the world, Blackpool's High Tide Organ, and San Francisco's Wave Organ, but neither sounds quite as nice as this one.
