Sting Pulls Robert Downey Jr. On Stage, And He Stuns Everyone With His Voice
Robert Downey Jr. is a household name for his acting ability, and has been a Hollywood mainstay for decades. His brilliant early career was, sadly, marked by trouble with authorities due to his ongoing addiction issues. Luckily, he cleaned himself up and has revived his career to incredibly lofty heights thanks to his role in Marvel Studios' hugely successful Iron Man and Avengers franchises. Between June 2014 and June 2015, he was ranked as Hollywood's highest-paid actor, making nearly $80 million in that time period.
While everyone knows him for his acting and his roguishly charming personality, not a lot of people know that he's also a pretty talented singer! He's sung on the soundtracks of several of the movies he's acted in such as Chaplin, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and Tropic Thunder. He also had some commercial success with his remake of Joni Mitchell's 1973 song "River," which his character, Larry Paul, performed on TV's Ally McBeal.
In this video from 2011, we see Downey Jr. being invited on stage by legendary musician Sting during a concert for the latter's 60th birthday. Other famous guests included the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Lady Gaga, but it's Downey Jr. who steals the show with his now-famous rendition of "Driven To Tears."
