Can you believe it's December? It feels like it was summer just a few weeks ago and it's almost time for the seasonal holidays. Homes everywhere are already adorned with Christmas decorations, and some people have even completed their shopping lists over the Thanksgiving weekend.
In addition to looking forward to the holidays, millions of people everywhere are looking forward to the theatrical release of the newest Star Wars movie. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is the long-awaited sequel to the original trilogy, and it is the first official live-action movie in the series since "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" was released in 2005. People of all ages are excited to see Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher reprise their roles as the iconic characters of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. The movie is set to come out a week before Christmas and it is almost certain to be a blockbuster hit during the holidays.
Just because the movie’s characters aren't from Earth doesn't mean that they can't get into the Christmas spirit. Photographed by Kyle Shearrer, these Stormtroopers are on a mission to spread holiday cheer.
The mission begins with securing the area of operations.
The next step is to prep the area with a tree skirt.
It can be a bit difficult when you are only a few inches tall.
Now it's time to bring in some of the equipment.
This will act as our foundation.
That's not how you use a power outlet.
With the base set and ready, it's time to start building. It looks exactly like the Iwo Jima Memorial.
Success! However, I don't think these working conditions are up to code.
The time has finally come to haul in the branches.
These weigh just as much as your average 6-inch-tall Stormtrooper figure.
Luckily, they had a little extra help from a friend.
Things are starting to come together very nicely.
Stormtroopers always work best in teams.
Adding the extension can be a bit terrifying. Whatever you do, don't look down.
It's amazing what teamwork can accomplish. But how will they ever get the top piece on? Good thing Lord Vader showed up to check on their progress.
The power of the Force!
"Just a little bit to the left."
Perfect! Lord Vader saves Christmas again.
Happy Holidays to everyone in the Galactic Empire!
