When He Takes A Saw To The Tree, It Performs A Magic Trick
This is a pretty miraculous occurrence, but I wouldn't count on it happening again. Usually, a tree falling in your yard is less than hilarious, but it is something for which you can prepare.
They say that the best offense is a good defense, and the saying holds true where trees are concerned. You should inspect your trees a few times a year, particularly in the spring, in the fall and after big storms. Look over the whole tree and check for any peeling or cuts in the bark. It's also good to get out binoculars and scope out the top of the tree for dead wood or leaves.
It's important to keep an eye out for extreme leaning, multiple trunks and construction stress. If you see something worrying, make sure to call a certified arborist.
