It’s that time of year again when sweet corn is abundantly available, and I’m always quick to take advantage. A long time ago, I heard that if you add butter and milk directly to a boiling pot of corn you could get some magical results.
Typically, I prefer to throw my corn on the grill, but I decided to give it a try. I put five ears of corn in a large pot with one cup of milk and one stick of butter. I added water until it was about twice the height of the corn, and boiled it all together for about eight minutes. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed with the results.
What came out was pure joy for the taste buds. I love corn and I thought it couldn't get better, but this is amazing! The corn already had a fabulous buttery flavor, so I didn’t have to add any after it was cooked like I typically would. A tiny dash of salt was all that was required, and the result was the best tasting corn on Earth. This is definitely something I’ll be sharing with friends at my next BBQ or potluck!
Whatever your traditional method for preparing corn, I highly recommend you give this one a try.
