One of my favorite things about summer is corn-on-the-cob. It's absolutely delicious, no matter how you serve it up (my favorite is grilled, then rubbed with a chili-lime mix I make). Unfortunately, if you're getting corn from a farm stand, or even certain grocery stores, it's likely to still be wrapped in its husk and silk. Getting those off can be a time-consuming task, but America's Test Kitchen has got a brilliant way to make it a bit easier - the microwave.
- Starting at the stalk end, slice the tip one inch above the last row of kernels.
- Place the corn on a plate and microwave for 2-4 minutes.
- Grab the corn by the uncut end and shake while squeezing. The corn will slide right out, nice and clean!
