This Bus Travels Through The Himalayas, But The Route It Takes Is Absolutely Terrifying
This bus ride puts even the scariest roller coaster to shame. Located in the remote Pangi Valley, the Alwas-Killar Road bus route was opened in 2008 to help boost the economy and tourism in the region. The new bus route made a huge difference in the ability of residents and tourists alike to travel around the region. Instead of traveling over 1,000 miles of harsh terrain to get to the region's main city, bus riders are in for a journey of less than 300 miles. The route also provides easy links from larger cities to more isolated spas and resorts. The only downsides are the 14,500 foot altitude and the 100 mile stretch of narrow, windy road without shoulder or guardrail. Any bus drivers on this route better be on high alert.
