This Dog Has The Best Response To Getting A New Toy

This dog seems to be one happy camper... with an extra-wide smile to prove it. But what does that canine smile really mean? In wolves, dogs' distant cousins, a retraction at the corners of the lips, otherwise known as a smile, indicates nervousness or submission. Although dogs have become domesticated, they are still hard-wired to interpret a smile in this way. Another explanation for a dog's toothy grin is that it is often learned behavior. When an owner sees his pup "smiling", he often rewards the dog with belly rubs, treats, or some other goody. If the dog begins to associate the smile with the pleasant reward, then he will continue to do it.
