As tattoos have grown in popularity around the world, many advancements have been made. Tattoos are now safer and more hygienic than they have ever been, giving artists the ability to experiment with a variety of styles and colors. Whether or not you are a fan of tattooing, there is some incredible art out there. One of the most unique bodies of work belongs to Sasha Unisex, a St. Petersburg-based tattoo artist.
Unisex's tattoo art looks more like watercolors than anything, and for good reason. Before actually tattooing a client, she creates a watercolor painting, both as a test and guide for the finished product. The result is brightly-colored animals and flowers, coming to life in geometric patterns that are unique and adorable. While these tattoos appear sweet and simple, the skill it took to create them is that of a truly talented artist.
While classic tattoos have simple lines, limited coloring, and strong black outlines, Unisex's work is flowing, geometric, and takes on incredible dimensions of shape. Art like this is more commonly seen on a gallery wall than the human body, and is a clear testament to just how far the tattoo industry has come. You can see more of Sasha Unisex's work on her Instagram page, where she also uploads images of her paintings and completed tattoos.
