All children, except one, grow up. But if you've grown up but still find yourself following the second star to the right and straight on till morning all the way to Neverland, it might be time to take your inner Lost Boy for a vacation. For the young at heart, this Air BnB home recreates the magic and wonder of Peter Pan's hideout.
In Atlanta, Georgia, husband and wife team, Peter and Katie, built this fairytale treehouse. It's on the same lot as their home, but it's completely private.
From their description: "Centrally located within the heart of intown Atlanta and immersed in thick greenery, the treehouse for two consists of 3 separate rooms, each connected by rope-bridges. The living room is decked out with antique furnishings including 80 year old butterfly-filled windows, a 12-candle chandelier, comfortable, antique seating for 6, and a balcony overlooking an acre of lush woods. The double bed–fitted with sumptuous and organic linens can be rolled out onto a platform that overlooks the stream below or inside the room for further insulation."
Peter is a 3D photographer and environmental activist and Katie works in the wine industry. Clearly, both have a serious knack for craftsmanship and hospitality, as they don’t have a single bad review.
While their guests are in a totally private space, Peter and Katie do offer wine and snacks at night and coffee in the morning. And just in case the outdoors is a bit too much, even with the heated mattress, they do offer a guest bedroom in the main house if visitors get too chilly.
The area is accessible by car sharing services, but many guests just order in pizza and do a total hibernation in the treehouse.
