This Special Kitty Has A Knack For Comforting Nursing Home Residents On Their Deathbeds
This incredibly empathetic cat's name is Oscar, and he calls the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Providence, Rhode Island his home. After being adopted as a kitten from an animal shelter, he grew up on the third-floor dementia unit. Only six months after settling into his new home, the doctors noticed that Oscar would curl up with patients only several hours before their deaths. His first case was with a patient suffering from a blood clot in her leg. The patient's leg was ice-cold, so Oscar wrapped his little body around the woman's leg until she passed away. His unbelievable accuracy led the doctors to call family members whenever Oscar was found cuddling with a patient close to death.
