Hebrew University Professor Sydney Engelberg already had a reputation among the moms in his Jerusalem masters program. Rather than see his students drop out from the pressures of parenthood, he permitted them to bring their children to class with them.
During Professor Engelberg's lecture on organizational behavior, he led by example when a baby started crying. The mom picked up her little one and started to remove herself from the class.
But the professor took the baby into his arms and kept going with his lecture as if nothing had happened. With the soothing motions of being carried, the baby quickly settled down.
His daughter, Sarit Fishbaine, wasn't surprised. “The way he sees the concept of getting education is not only learning the dry facts that you need to learn in class, but also learning values."
Yish'ar Ko'ach, Professor.
