Government press conferences usually don’t go for a lot of laughs and whimsy. They are QUITE SERIOUS. Pakistan is no exception.
However, people around the globe got a giggle when regional minister Shaukat Yousafzai spoke to a room of journalists. The event was streamed via Facebook Live… which has a cat filter… which someone forgot to turn off.
Meaning the minister Yousafzai and his fellow lawmakers had kitty ears, noses and whiskers.
User @Ahsan_H_Durrani brought the mistake to Twitter.
So this happened today when PTI's SM team forgot to turn off the cat filter while live streaming a press conference on Facebook. @SAYousafzaiPTI looks kinda cute pic.twitter.com/IjjJrua7DL

“So this happened today when PTI’s SM team forgot to turn off the cat filter while live streaming a press conference on Facebook,” he posted. He even said the minister, “looks kinda cute.”
The internet agreed.
Maybe they were trying to spread a paw-sitive image of the KP government?

Surely, this press conference was meant to provide important information to the public, but we just can’t ignore how cute these guys are.

Un-fur-tunately, the video was deleted from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party’s Facebook page, but we will always have the tweets.
According to the BBC, when asked about the feline appearance of the participants by an AFP journalist, Yousafzai said,”I wasn’t the only one – two officials sitting along me were also hit by the cat filter.” He also said the filter was left on because of “human error,” and steps have been taken so that this never happens again.
Awww. Why? Twitter loved it!

From this point forward, we demand all government press conferences to be live streamed with the cat filter ON.
Right meow.
