A Brave Man Performs The World's First And Only Triple Backflip On A Motorcycle
May 3, 2015
Sheehan reached a speed of 60 MPH before hitting a 37-foot takeoff ramp. The ramp featured an intimidating 81-degree angle, and he reached a maximum height of 80 feet in the air as he whipped his 200-pound motorbike for three full rotations before absolutely nailing the landing. Pastrana says that "the slightest misstep may well have meant death. Josh is one of the gutsiest guys on the planet for even attempting this, let alone nailing it."
29-year-old Josh Sheehan just became the first (and so far only) person to successfully land a triple backflip on a motocross bike. The Australian rider, who is part of the Nitro Circus team, completed the stunt at Nitro Circus founder and fellow teammate Travis Pastrana's "Pastranaland" action sports park in Maryland. The previous record was a double backflip done by Pastrana back in 2006.
