A College Hockey Player Makes An Amazing, Diving Save Without Any Help From The Goalie
Apr 3, 2015
He has already been selected in the NHL draft by the Minnesota Wild. For now though, his focus is on college hockey. According to the RedHawks assistant coach, Brent Brekke, "Probably the best [aspects] of his game are his vision and his shot, so he's constantly working on [his shot], and it's great to see someone dedicated to putting in the time to make himself better." It seems that work paid off with this save.
Originally from Skokie, Illinois, Louie Belpedio has proven that hockey is his life. Currently, he is a freshman at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio (and starting defenseman for the RedHawks hockey team). Prior to Miami, he played for Culver Academy in Indiana and then moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan for his junior and senior years of high school. There, he played for the U.S. National Development Team, which is USA Hockey's way of identifying elite players in the country who are under 18.
