Mr. Van Dam loves planes. At 86 years old, he worked on aircrafts for many years before retiring. But his passion for flight, and the machines that make it possible, never retired. Van Dam still keeps tabs on the industry, wishing that he could have had the chance to work on the bigger planes that fill the skies today.

Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam decided to do something special for Mr. Van Dam by giving him an up-close encounter with the world's largest passenger plane. Thrilled by the opportunity, he admired every detail of the plane from the engines to the cockpit. It was such a simple thing for the airport to do, but you can tell it meant the world to Van Dam.
