A Visual Tour That Explains Why Everyone Loves Dole Bananas

Feb 22, 2015
Acquired by Castle & Cooke, Inc. in the 1960s, The Dole Food Company (formerly known as the Hawaiian Pineapple Company) is recognized as one of the top two U.S. banana import companies alongside Chiquita. Every year, the average American consumes about 27 pounds of bananas.

With banana plantations worldwide, Dole puts great effort into keeping their customers happy and only providing quality bananas. Every part of the process is done by hand and yet the entire process is incredibly quick. It's truly fascinating to see the amount of attention that the workers give to the bananas, from harvesting them in the fields to prepping them for shipment.
