Daredevil Jumps Out Of A Helicopter With No Parachute And Lives To Tell The Tale

May 8, 2015
Gary Connery is a British skydiver, BASE jumper and professional stuntman who has worked on films such as "Die Another Day," "Batman Begins" and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." The 45-year-old made his first parachute jump at the age of 23 as part of his army training, and has since become world famous for being one of Britain's best BASE jumpers. In 2012, Connery also got the distinction of becoming the first person to ever complete a wingsuit landing without a parachute.

Wingsuits, sometimes called birdman suits, have flaps of fabric between the arms and torso and also between the legs. This added surface area allows for significant lift and aids with gliding. Due to its similarity in look and mechanics, it is also sometimes called a flying-squirrel suit.
