Hospital Allows Dogs And Cats As Visitors

Being diagnosed with a severe illness or undergoing a painful procedure can be bad enough, but it’s even worse when you’ve got a faithful pet waiting at home for you. There isn’t anything those animals wouldn’t do for you, and the same goes for the reverse. But most of the time, someone suffering from cancer or another deadly disease will find themselves alone in a hospital bed, as far away from their lovable fuzzballs as they can be, at least in spirit.

Well, the Juravinski hospital in Hamilton, Ontario is working with a small organization called Zachary’s Paws for Healing, dedicated to bringing these loving and beloved family members right into the hospital to comfort patients when they need it most. The procedures developed by the hospital along with the organization ensure very little risk of the animals bringing in any potential contagions, and you can tell by looking that these animals need these visits as much as the patients do.
