Let These Marblers Mesmerize You With Their Beautiful Craft
Sep 19, 2015
A 12-minute-long video about an art form you've never heard of probably sounds daunting. The choice of intro song and dry opening voice-over would be enough to turn most people away after 30 seconds, but whatever you do, keep watching. What follows is a mesmerizing demonstration of an art form that many will never take the time to see, and once the 12 minutes are up, you'll be glad you did.
A lot can be said about the history of Paper Marbling. It originated in 12th century Japan and began to spread across Asia, eventually making its way to Europe by the 17th century. As an art form, Marbling allows artists to create incredibly fluid designs that can't be replicated by any other medium. None of this is as important, however, as simply watching the video.
