Meet The Quadriplegic Man Who Flew Solo Around Australia
Mar 1, 2015
Jacka, an 46-year-old Australian man, has only 6 percent of his body function due to a terrible motorcycle accident at the age of 19. For years, Jacka has spent his time relearning simple tasks, such as feeding himself and maneuvering around his home. Eventually, he regained the skill and control to reach heights and achieve goals that once seemed impossible to him.
Quadriplegia is partial or total paralysis of the body that results from illness or injury, and affects 30 to 60 people per million every year. The main cause of neck and spinal cord injuries is motor vehicle accidents, such as the one Dave Jacka was involved in.
