NASA's 4K Footage Of Earth Is Edited Into This Beautiful Timelapse Video

Aug 16, 2015 By Michael W. Pirrone
We love space here at Wimp and pretty much geek out at every new planet discovered. Possible water on Mars? Rock on. One thing that's easy to forget is how our space-faring astronaut friends over at NASA and other space agencies also use their incredible perspective to look back at our own planet. It sometimes gets lost in the vast expanse of space just how beautiful our "blue marble" really is.

This gorgeous 4K (as in, very, very high-def) footage was edited together by Dmitry Pisanko out of hours of video shot on the International Space Station. Set to the strains of "Experience," by Ludovico Einaudi, it's loaded with everything a space lover could want: auroras, moon rises, massive lightning storms, even Comet Lovejoy makes an appearance.
