Photographer Makes A Fantastic Catch To Save His Equipment From Plummeting Into Crashing Waves

The clip shows the drone flying high above the coastline of Floreat Beach. As Chatfield looked on from the beach, he realized the drone was descending. He told the local paper, "The West Australian," that he knew he would be out of a considerable amount of money and knew he had to make a run for it. It was "do or die," he told them. Luckily, he had recently trained for and run the New York City marathon with his wife, so he was in great shape for his sprint. There in the nick of time, Chatfield credits his certified diving credentials for his strong swimming and ability to function in the waves while one hand kept the drone above water.
YouTube user and professional photographer Ryan Chatfield bought a drone with camera equipment so he could produce great, quality aerial images. He decided, after practicing it close to home, that he would take the drone out to get some images on a beach in his hometown of Perth, Australia.
