Practice Makes Perfect

Dec 13, 2015 By Michael W. Pirrone

Classical and flamenco guitar playing isn’t exactly common in modern society. When you go to the bar, you might hear a man with a six string playing some rock, blues or even jazz, but you have to seek out the incredible talent that exists in these less-widespread forms. And seek it out you should. These dedicated musicians can do things with a guitar you might not have thought possible.

Just ask the judges of Australia’s Got Talent, after they witnessed an incredible performance that took them by surprise with a modern take on a traditional style. If you want to know how Tom Ward got that good, look no further than the guitar itself. There’s a hole worn through the surface of the guitar from all the playing he’s done to get to that point.
