Robodog Spot Is A Pet Like No Other
Feb 13, 2015
The creative and brilliant engineers at Boston Dynamics have designed a four-legged robot named Spot. Weighing 160 pounds won't make Spot a lap dog, but its ability to maneuver through buildings and rough terrain make it the perfect self-reliant pet and even a great hiking partner.
Owned by Google, Boston Dynamics describes their work as "seamlessly combining advanced analytical thinking with boots-in-the-mud practicality." Known for creating robots with an animal likeness, the company states that they "use sensor-based controls and computation to unlock the capabilities of complex mechanisms." Regardless of how they're constructed, Spot and his fellow dogs bring great advancements to the robotics industry.
With a name like Spot, you would probably think of a cute, furry little canine, however, this is not the case. This four-legged creature is unlike most dogs.
