Scientists Discover Amazing Deep Sea Creatures Off The Coast Of Puerto Rico

May 19, 2015 By Archit Tripathi
It's somewhat baffling to consider the fact that we know more details about the moon, at this point, than we do about what lies below the water that covers nearly 71 percent of our planet. Marine research is woefully underfunded, faces the difficulties of keeping people alive at unfathomable depth, as well as trying to see things at depths where there is absolutely no light available.

Thankfully, the use of remote operated vehicles (ROVs) equipped with new, high-definition cameras designed for low light settings is giving us an unprecedented look at the wonderful world beneath the waves. This footage was funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and was captured just off the coast of Puerto Rico. Some creatures seen here are so new that scientists have yet to name them.
