Smart Dog Finds A Solution To A Big Branch Problem
May 26, 2015
This dog, called "Theo," who appears to be a Labrador retriever, seems to be stuck for a second when his prized stick is significantly wider than the bridge he's trying to cross. Theo's clearly a smart dog, because he almost immediately tries to see if there may be a way around the obstacle. Giving a dog an obstacle and seeing if they can go around it is one of several IQ tests for dogs, which Theo passes with flying colors.
Not only that, he also figures out how to change the angle on something that won't fit with its standard orientation - which is more than I can say for some of the movers I've used in the past (Goodbye, security deposit - I hardly knew ye).
Dogs may be man's best friend but, sadly, their spatial awareness tends to leave something to be desired. Generally speaking, when it comes to a situation like the one seen in this video, more often than not, you'll see them getting stuck. (As a matter of fact, there have been several viral videos about exactly that.)
