The Broadway Casts Of "The Lion King" And "Aladdin" Have An Airport Sing-Off

Recently, at LaGuardia Airport in New York City, travelers were grounded for hours due to bad weather in the area. So, instead of the typical experience, which includes angry people, frustrated parents of young children, and flustered airport employees, people were unexpectedly treated to two Broadway show performances.

The casts of "The Lion King" and "Aladdin" were in the airport, destined to go to Orlando for scheduled performances at Disney World Resorts, according to what other travelers shared with NBC Channel 4 New York. But just because these talented singers work for Disney, that does not mean that their travel plans were any more "magical" than the rest of the travelers there at the airport. So, instead of allowing the rainy weather to get the best of them (and everyone else), the two casts started an impromptu sing-off.

A back-and-forth a Capella stand-off was in order as both casts blasted their way through their shows' hits or, even better, improvised some songs. James Inglehart, who plays the Genie in "Aladdin" and won a 2014 Tony Award for the role, had a particularly good freestyle. The winner of the stand-off? Clearly the other travelers who were able to revel in the performances were the winners.
