These Franciscan Monks Break Character To Have A Little Fun In The Snow
Feb 27, 2015
Known to be very active in their communities, these friars took it to a new level when an unusual cold front hit the area. Usually the region is known for its blistering heat, so the snow was a definite break from the typical day-to-day life in Jerusalem. These six men were not going to let that moment pass by, even if it meant throwing or dodging snowballs in their traditional black, hooded cloaks.
Einat Gomel recently uploaded a video to her Facebook page that was taken earlier this month from an overlooking window at the San Salvatore Convento Francescano St. Saviour's Monastery, in Jerusalem, Israel. Here, Franciscan monks reside. Typically called Franciscan Friars, the men belong to an Order in the Catholic Church founded over 800 years ago by St. Francis of Assisi.
