Easy?
I don’t think so…
I think certain jobs seem easy when looking in from the outside, but a flight attendant is definitely not one of them.
And a flight attendant named Destanie posted a video on TikTok to sound off about the good, the bad, and the ugly of her job after she heard that someone said her job was easy.
She repeated the quote she heard and said, “Being a flight attendant is the easiest job in the world. Imagine getting paid to just pass out peanuts and pour Diet Coke,” she says.
And then Destanie added, “OK, first of all, tell me you don’t travel without telling me you don’t travel.”
She then said that airlines don’t serve peanuts anymore because some people are allergic to them, so that’s Strike One.
Destanie continued, “When it comes to day-to-day tasks, this job is so easy. It’s the same two options all the time. So, for me, it’s not that hard.”
But she also addressed the hard parts of the job and said, “The scheduling, the people, the things we have to deal with, the pay. You will not understand until you’re in our position how hard it is.”
But she wasn’t done yet…next up was the passengers.
She said, “People come at you and scream at you for the weather. I don’t know if you guys know, but airlines aren’t mother nature, nor [is] your little flight attendant that’s probably stuck and away from home at the same place as you are.”
Destanie told some more stories about unruly passengers and she said that most of her bad experiences are with folks wearing headphones…and we’ll let you hear from her about how those interactions go…
